A Letter from Our New Executive Director, Anthony Mickens
My name is Anthony Mickens, and it’s an honor to introduce myself to you as the new Executive Director of Seven Tepees Youth Program.
I am humbled and excited to lead Seven Tepees into its next chapter.
I have admired the mission and work of Seven Tepees for many years. As a San Francisco native and the first college graduate in my family, I am well aware of the challenges facing San Francisco youth, particularly youth of color on their road to success. I have dedicated the past 30 years of my life to improving the lives of youth and their families in the Mission District, as well other underserved neighborhoods in San Francisco.
Given the current political climate and our fast changing world, the efforts of Seven Tepees are needed now more than ever. You and I, alongside the Seven Tepees staff, board, donors, volunteers, and community partners, have a deep passion for supporting the most underresourced youth so that they can make positive choices and create their own opportunities for success.
I look forward to working alongside you to make a difference in the lives of those students and families that we serve and a positive impact on the San Francisco community.
I hope to meet you at this year's Winter Celebration on Thursday, December 21, 6-8pm, for a celebration of the season, community meal and youth talent show.
